Not far from San Gimignano is located the beautiful city of Siena, perfect destination for a day out. The city offers a number of attractions really interesting. Today, in particular, we want to suggest the major museums of the city
Pinacoteca Nazionale
It is, very likely, the most important museum of the city. The museum houses what is considered the largest collection of works from the so-called school of Siena. Here are some of the great masters of painting of the XII–XIII century as Duccio, Simone Martini and the brothers Pietro and Ambrogio Lorenzetti. Do not miss the Madonna of the Franciscans, the Nativity and the Madonna and Child with the Annunciation.
The cost of admission is 4 € (2 € for the reduced ticket). The museum is open on Mondays from 9 to 13, from Tuesday to Saturday from 8.15 to 19.15 and Sunday morning from 9 to 13.

useo dell’Opera del Duomo
This museum is located in the exact spot where it was to be built the Dome. Here are preserved the major works produced between 1300 and 1500. You will have the opportunity to see works by Duccio and beautiful sculptures including the stunning “Tondo” by Donatello. From here you can also enjoy a splendid view, a surprise that not everyone knows.
To visit the museum you can buy a single ticket for 7 € or a cumulative pass for entry to all areas of the museum
Santa Maria della Scala
The Santa Maria della Scala museum complex is located where once was built the first hospital in Europe to give assistance to the poor and pilgrims. Today the museum offers works by local artists from which we can understand the value that this building has had in the history of the city. Often the complex houses interesting exhibitions.

Museo Civico
The Palazzo Pubblico also includes the Civic Museum of Siena. The Hall of the Globe houses some impressive works on astronomical, dated around XII / XIII century along with some more modern works from the 1800s.
The highlight of this museum is climbing the bell tower, the famous Torre del Mangia, which boasts views the beauty of Siena.
Tickets cost € 9 equesti are the opening hours: daily from 10 to 18 (from November 1 until March 15) and from 10 to 19 (from 16 March to 31 October).
